A Baba Tree Art Basket

Use as a: Stylish Décor Basket

Dugla is a Bolga basket that takes its shape from a shea butter pot.

The Gurunsi once stored shea in a small, pot-like vessel, and the weaver has kept that full-bellied form, then pushed it into something you would call sculpture. It asks for dried grasses and flowers to be projected from the opening.

The proportions are the point. Densely woven in elephant grass, it sits low and weighted, sure of the space it takes up.

This is not a basket for everyday use. It is a considered object, made for people who can tell the difference between something made and something made with intention.

Woven in Bolgatanga, Ghana, where the Bolga basket began.

Another Baba Tree original.

The weaver of this Baba Tree product will receive a 12.5% commission on the retail price in addition to what they were paid upon completion.
