Yobilika Art Basket

The Yobilika is a handwoven Bolga art basket. Some of the finest architecture in the savannah was built without an architect.

Yobilika is the Gurune word for the termite mound, one of nature's quiet feats of engineering. The mounds rise from the ground, raised by countless small builders working to a single shape, holding firm against time.

The basket answers that form: a textured weave, a tall sculptural rise, the patient build of a structure made to hold.

Densely woven in elephant grass in Bolgatanga, Ghana, it carries real height and presence, and comes in two sizes, medium and large.
