Fair trade Art Basket

Use as a: Stylish Décor Basket, Stylish Storage Basket

“Tall Dugla” is a taller form of the original Dugla. Dugla means 'clay pot' in Gurune, the local language in Bolgatanga in Ghana's Upper East Region. Dugla is a small pot-like container that is used locally to store Shea butter.

The Tall Dugla basket was born from our admiration of the intricate processes we observe as part of daily life of the Gurunsi people who live across Bolgatanga. The rituals involved in the making of Shea butter reflect community, culture, and age-old traditions. This is our culture of baskets!

An art sculpture in its own right, alternatively the Tall Dugla basket is also the perfect woven vessel for your foliage finds from the garden and fresh flowers. Insert a glass jar into the neck of the vase, sit it on the base of the basket, and voila you have yourself a woven vase.

We love these baskets and how the weavers have interwoven their everyday rituals into their weaving work.

The weaver of this Baba Tree product will receive a 15% commission on the retail price in addition to what they were paid upon completion.

You will receive the basket in the picture. In our photos, baskets are presented by the weavers who created them.
