At The Baba Tree, we aim to provide exemplary customer service along with handwoven baskets of the highest quality from Bolgatanga, Ghana.
We make every effort to ensure that your order arrives as swiftly as possible and that your basket looks beautiful after reshaping.
If there is any issue with your order, please do not hesitate to contact us so that we can make it right.
You will receive the exact basket pictured when you purchase from The Baba Tree online store.
Please note that colours may appear slightly different from screen to screen depending on your device’s display settings.
If your basket needs reshaping after shipping, this is normal. Please visit our YouTube tutorial for guidance. Reshaping is easy and will help bring the basket back to its original form.

Return Policy for Baskets
Our return policy for baskets is effective for 7 days after you receive your purchase.
You may apply for a refund if:
- you received the wrong basket or baskets
- your basket or baskets were damaged during shipping
- your basket was defective, or was damaged during packing and the issue was not identified before shipment
If your basket was damaged during shipping, you must send us the following within 7 days of delivery:
- a high-quality photo of the damaged basket or baskets
- a high-quality photo of each of the six sides of the shipping box
Once we have reviewed the issue and confirmed that the basket was damaged during shipping, or before shipment, we will begin the refund process.
In some cases, The Baba Tree may offer an alternative solution that is quicker and more satisfactory for both the customer and The Baba Tree, instead of issuing a refund.
To complete your refund request, we require proof of purchase.
Approved refunds are issued without requiring the basket to be returned to The Baba Tree.
We do not require approved damaged or incorrect baskets to be shipped back to Ghana.
Refunds Are Not Available For Baskets
- damage to your basket or baskets after delivery
- claims made more than 7 days after delivery
- change-of-mind requests
Handle Breakage Guarantee
In the unlikely event that a handle breaks during reasonable use within 6 months of purchase on any of the following basket types:
- Nyariga Baskets
- Oval Baskets
- Laundry Baskets
- Round Baskets
we will be delighted to replace the basket free of charge.
This does not apply to our Pot Baskets. The handles on Pot Baskets are not designed for heavy use, and these baskets are recommended primarily as decorative objects or for light storage.
Return Policy for Lampshades
Our return policy for lampshades is effective for 30 days after delivery.
You may apply for a refund if:
- you received the wrong lampshade
- your lampshade was damaged during shipping
- your lampshade was defective, or was damaged during packing and the issue was not identified before shipment
If your lampshade was damaged during shipping, you must contact us within 30 days of delivery and provide a clear photo of the damaged lampshade.
Once we have reviewed the issue and confirmed that the lampshade was damaged during shipping, or before shipment, we will begin the refund process.
In some cases, The Baba Tree may offer an alternative solution that is quicker and more satisfactory for both the customer and The Baba Tree, instead of issuing a refund.

- Lampshade sustains damage after delivery

Refund Processing
If, after considering other possible solutions, your refund is approved, a credit will be applied immediately to your original method of payment.
Late or Missing Refunds
If you have not yet received your refund, please first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before the refund is officially posted.
Next, contact your bank, as processing times can vary.
