Basket Care
Handling and Care
Our baskets are handwoven with care and are designed to last. To maintain their beauty and functionality, we recommend to follow these guidelines:
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the colours to fade.
Keep Dry: Avoid getting the baskets wet. If they do get wet, allow them to dry naturally in a shaded area.
Clean Gently: Use a dry or slightly damp cloth to wipe away dust and dirt. Do not use harsh chemicals or detergents.
Reshape When Needed: If your basket loses its shape, you can reshape it by lightly misting with water and gently molding it with your hands. Click on How to Reshape a Basket to learn more.
Leather Care
The handles of our baskets often come with leather wrapping. To care for the leather:
Keep Leather Dry: Avoid exposure to water. If the leather gets wet, blot it dry with a soft cloth.
Conditioning: Occasionally condition the leather with a suitable leather conditioner to keep it supple and prevent cracking.
Storage
Store baskets in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Do not stack heavy items on top of them to avoid deforming their shape.

Below is ''Laughing'' Lydia version of the Tua Tia (Baobab Tree).
"Tua Tia" (Baobab Tree Basket)
This extraordinary basket got it's name from it's features. Have you noticed the straw hanging like the leaves of a baobab tree? Yes, it is specially woven from one of our talented weavers. The Baobab Tree, also known as the 'mother tree', gives an impressive amount of shade and very sweet fruits. This baskets' spiraling features is one of our main specialities. Have you noticed how a twisted cloth looks like Mavis showed real talent and culture on this very special basket.
The Baobab Tree can be found in Africa. The Baobab Tree is the namesake of our company. Chosen because of it's friendly nature, The Baba Tree Company was named after this special tree. This proudly woven basket is easy to reshape.
Where, in your opinion, would this beautiful basket fit in your house?
